I’m not trying to build an empire. I keep my client list small on purpose — so the people I work with actually get what they need.
Most of them are too busy running their business to be stuck sorting inboxes, updating spreadsheets or dealing with admin they didn’t ask for. They’ve got things to do, places to be, and absolutely no interest in sitting at a laptop all day.
So, who do I actually work with?
Honestly? The ones who let me get on with it.
Some are one-man bands. Others have a team of 10 or 20. What they’ve all got in common is that they don’t micromanage, they trust that I know what I’m doing, and they’re not scared to ask for more when they need it. Most of them have said at some point, “I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Which is nice. And also true.
Trades are a sweet spot, builders, sparkies, roofline firms, you name it, but I’ve also worked with travel companies, beauty businesses, tech firms and financial services. If they’re not tied to a desk all day, I tend to be extra useful.
I just get on with it – sorting quotes, chasing invoices, writing polite emails that still get the point across, booking travel, tidying inboxes and setting up systems so it doesn’t all get forgotten five minutes later. You might forget I’m there, but you’ll definitely notice if I go.
What it’s like to work with me
I’m not the type who needs hand-holding. Give me the job and I’ll crack on. I’ll flag anything odd, ask what I need, and keep things moving without flooding you with pointless updates.. Some clients like a quick end-of-day update. Others just want to know the job’s done. I work around that.
I don’t mind whether the task needs someone to take the lead or follow instructions; I’m happy doing either. Want ideas for your next flyer? I’ll come up with them. Just need a spreadsheet built to track staff hours or project quotes? Even better.
I’ve worked with enough people over the years to know what works and what doesn’t. If you’re after someone to make sense of the madness so stuff actually gets done, that’s me.
